Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Claro Betting LLC (“CLARO,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the CLARO mobile app, our websites, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide:

  • Identity information: first name, last name, email address, password (which we never store in plaintext — passwords are hashed using bcrypt), and your attestation that you are at least 18 years old.
  • Location information at signup: your U.S. state of residence (used for age and geographic eligibility — we do not collect GPS location).
  • Contact information: phone number (optional, used only for account recovery).
  • Profile and preferences: username (if you choose one), notification preferences, sportsbooks you want to monitor, leagues and markets of interest, minimum profit threshold, and bankroll size if you enter one for the calculator.
  • Linked sportsbook accounts: if you opt to link a sportsbook account through our integration partner, identifiers required to enable that integration. CLARO does not receive your sportsbook password.
  • Bet history you import or sync: if you choose to import or sync your bets, the wager details you make available.
  • Communications: the contents of messages you send to support.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service we automatically collect:

  • Account identifiers: a Firebase user ID assigned at signup, our internal user ID, and an authentication provider tag (email, Apple, or Google).
  • Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, build number, IP address (used transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and a push-notification token issued by OneSignal.
  • Usage information: the features you interact with, the opportunities you view or act on, in-app navigation events, and timestamps of logins and key actions, used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Diagnostic information: crash logs and performance data, used to diagnose problems.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

If you sign in using Apple or Google, we receive a verified email address and a unique identifier from those providers, in accordance with the permissions you grant. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

1.4 What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect precise device location (GPS), contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera content, or biometric templates. Face ID / Touch ID, where you enable it, is performed on your device by iOS — the biometric data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to CLARO.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the Service, including authenticating you, surfacing relevant opportunities, sending notifications you have opted into, and supporting bet placement workflows.
  • Personalize the opportunities you see based on your stated preferences (sportsbooks, leagues, markets, profit threshold).
  • Verify eligibility (18+, supported state of residence) and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Process subscriptions and manage account status.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Improve the Service, debug issues, and develop new features.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as described below.

3.1 Service Providers (Processors)

We share limited information with vendors that help us operate the Service. Each vendor is contractually limited to processing your information on our behalf for the purposes described:

We also receive market data from Polymarket and Kalshi for opportunity detection. These integrations are read-only and do not transmit your personal information to those operators.

3.2 Third-Party Sportsbooks and Prediction Markets

When you tap a link to place a bet, you leave the Service and interact with a third-party operator. That operator's privacy policy governs their handling of your information. CLARO does not transmit your password, banking details, or government identification to any sportsbook.

3.3 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with a valid legal process or government request, (b) enforce our Terms, (c) detect or prevent fraud or security incidents, or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of CLARO, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If CLARO is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections and continued application of this Privacy Policy.

4. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we send alerts about new opportunities matching your preferences, and operational messages such as account or subscription notices. You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings or in CLARO Settings → Notifications. Notification frequency is rate-limited per user; we do not spam.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data from our active production systems within 30 days, except where retention is required to (a) comply with legal obligations, (b) resolve disputes, (c) enforce our agreements, or (d) preserve aggregated, de-identified statistics. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are not used to restore deleted accounts.

Audit records of subscription events (purchase, cancellation, refund) may be retained for up to seven years to satisfy financial and tax record-keeping obligations.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information (most fields are editable in Settings).
  • Delete your account and associated personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Portability — receive a copy of your information in a machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, email support@clarobetting.com from the address associated with your account, or use the in-app deletion flow described below. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

7. Account Deletion (Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v))

You can delete your account at any time from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cascades through all associated records, including preferences, push tokens, linked-sportsbook references, synced bets, and subscription metadata. Apple ID associations created by Sign in with Apple are revoked through Apple's identity services. After deletion, you will need to create a new account to use the Service again.

If you cannot access the in-app deletion flow, email support@clarobetting.com and we will process the deletion within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

CLARO is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@clarobetting.com.

9. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including TLS in transit, password hashing with bcrypt, scoped access controls on our backend, and isolation between our production database and our admin tools. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for enabling Face ID / Touch ID on your device if you want an additional layer of protection.

If we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and any required regulators in accordance with applicable law.

10. International Users

The Service is hosted in the United States and is intended for residents of supported U.S. states. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.

11. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect about you, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. CLARO does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your California rights, email support@clarobetting.com.

Note: CLARO is currently unavailable to California residents. This section applies if you become a user while residing in California in the future.

12. Other State Privacy Laws

Residents of certain other U.S. states (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and others) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or port their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. To exercise these rights, email support@clarobetting.com. CLARO does not engage in targeted advertising.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice (such as an in-app notice or an email to your registered address) and update the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
